    SONOFA..... Every single time!

So my car has been extremely reliable. I have had it for 8 years now, and it's only been in the shop 4 or 5 times. Every single time I have had to put it in the shop, it has been right after I started thinking about selling it.

    Every.

    Single.

    Time.

And I never end up selling it because the shop work costs between $500 and $1500, so I wait to "get my money's worth" before selling it.

On Monday, I picked up some car classifieds magazines to look at some really cheap used cars--just to get an idea of prices in case I wanted to buy one-- and guess what? Today my car started making some really bad noises--sounds like a CV joint and there's also a sound like a cat dying whenever I put it in reverse.

It's like it knows I want to get rid of it, but it just won't let me.

Just got off the phone with the shop:

$1500 if it's just a pressure valve that needs to be replace, up to $3800 if it's "a more serious problem."

I'm not paying that much to fix a $2000 car

Anybody got a reliable (ugly) car they can loan me for 3 or 4 months? I have 2 cars, and can't drive either one of them safely
