    My truck floods, any tips?

    I have a problem.
My truck won't start in the morning.
If I pop the fuel line injector dealies off, then start it, it will run till its out of gas, which takes about 10 seconds. Then I can put them back on, and start it, and once it is started once, it will restart for no problems for about all day.
Once I leave it off all night, then it has a hard time starting again in the morning.

Anyone know what is causing it? The repair shop wanted 70$ just to look at it!@#@$#@%!!!!
    Any quick fixes?
My grandpa suggested tapping the gas peddle before I start it in the morning, but wouldn't that just make the flood worse? Or would it give it the extra air it needs to burn the extra fuel?

    Thanks

Bad fuel injectors leaking fuel into the engine after it's shut off?

I think new fuel injectors would fix you right up, but I don't think that'd be cheap.

    Dunno, probably around $50 each.

I wouldn't run out and buy them, though... I'm not a mechanic

I just started it up this morning, and put my foot in on the gas until I felt pressure, and it started right up. So until It gets worse, I'll just do this.

I had an old Econoline that would flood. When it did, I was told to floor the gas and turn it till it caught. Worked every time.

Sounds like leaky injectors....Instead of replacing, have them cleaned professionally. Most diesel shops will do it for around $25 per injector. I just had some big injectors done for my RX-7, and they came back all shiney and new, with printouts of flow rates and graphics of spray patterns.

I asked the shop teacher at my school,
he said that it is all one big unit, not a seperate injector for every cylinder on my truck.
He said the change over from carberator to injectors was right around this period (92), so the injector is a unit that just sits where the carb used to. And I'm a poor highschool student, if it runs, I'm not gonna pay to get the thing cleaned or whatnot.

This means that you have throttle body injection. I don't have any experience with that, but it seems to me that they could still become leaky and clogged....What did the shop teacher say about your flooding situation?
