i don't have any experience with eighther of them, but i can vouch for my camera, that i had for almost 4 years now. Canon PowerShot S50. 5 Mpixel, and i shot more than 5600 pictures with it over it's lifetime. All of them in beautifull color, and sharpness. I highly recommend it to anyone waning to get a digital camera. By now it should be in the 200 range, and it's well worth it. I got it for $550 wih 512 of cf card. Couldn't be any happier...

neither, go for a Canon SD series. This month they came/are comming out with 3 new ones. 1 with an image stabilizer, one with a 3" LCD. Get the one with the 3 inch. I have the sd450, and love it.

I just bought the Casio and it is the best of the 6 cameras that I have. It has amazingly fast recovery time from one shot to the next and the quality is amazing. I can not say anything bad about it. I shot 400 pictures in one day and the battery was still better than half full. It uses SD cards so it is compatible with every other camera I have. Video is good quality as well. Oh and like you said you are looking for slim this is the thinest camera I have ever used.

The sd550 is a better choice then the then others.

First it has no Internal memery but does come with a 32 MB SD card, Internal sucks it so small that you can do nothing with it! It also has no dock, just buy a 20 buck card reader you use it a lot longer and it's a lot faster then the dock. If you are looking for small camera look to Canon, Olympus Panasonic and , Pentax all knowen for real good small cameras.

BUY THE CASIO it is the best!!!! The internal memory is for burst shots close together so it can wait and write to the card as the card is ready. It is the smallest 3x optical camera I could find. Itr even comes in different colors. The dock works great and is very fast and allows the internal battery to charge and if you have it where you can see it it will run a slideshow of pictures for you. The dock is USB 2.0 so it is as fast as an exteranl card reaader. I know because I have one.

um, with my SD450, i have a 133x SD card. I can take burst shots like crazy (if not using the flash). I'd estimate probably about 2-3 shots a second.

and a dock is meant to work great..... but what works better is when your camera has a standard plug in the side of it.......eliminating the need for a dock.

And the ccd sensor on the 550 is much better then the casio's

the one thing the SDs really lack IMO is decent compression on the video it records. The quality is amazing, but they take up a lot of space.
