I'm getting ripped off on Ebay, help!

I bought an audiovox headunit off ebay for 75$,
I sent the money as a money order the day after I bought it.
It has now been two weeks, and the single email I recieved from the guy claims he never recieved the money. Tommorow I am going to the bank with the money order reciept to see if he has cashed it.
Is there anything else I can do? is it possible to get my money back out of the money order if he never cashed it? I found a better stereo with Aux in for cheaper at bestbuy.
    Thanks

did he contact you to pay?
    obviously you got his address...

if he doesnt respond to any of your emails, and he has cashed the check, i would contact someone at ebay and get his phone number. they can give it out if the seller is non-cooperative. if he hasnt cashed the check, then i would still report him. but definately find out about the check first.

i almost got screwed by some dude, took about 2 months to get my stuff!!!, complained, he was kicked off ebay!!

Also, if you mailed him the money order, I believe that it can be considered mail fraud, so that could be an avenue to pursue (legalistically).

mail fraud is a federal offence. You wouldn't have to put up any money for a legal case because it would be the USA vs wankerman.

Definately contact eBay, definately checkup on the Money Order, and if both of those fail, contact post office for mail fraud.

Well it happened to me twice now...
i lost nearly US$120 on ebay.
both of them for the stupid wireless network cards.

One was early last year and the last one was not long ago...

I contact the last guy and he promised to send me the item its already been over 3 months and i still got nothing...
He keeps changing his email addresses so its hard to track him down but im going to send him another email telling him that im going to report him if he doesnt provide a prove that he sent me my item.

the first time i just didnt know what to do and the guy told me that he shipped it... after that never answered my emails.

You recon i still can get him? its over a year now?

I'm very wary of ebay now!!!!

These days I'd rather pay full price and actually get something rather than pay and get nothing!!!

just mention mail fraud, most people on ebay are not exactly big-time criminals, and the mention of possibe jail time would be enough to get them to follow through.

Yes - eBay has a very fragile reputation to protect online. If they get a lot of reports of mail fraud via eBay, then that auction site will start losing business like it's going out of style (kinda like what's happening to PayPal... all the new "pound-your-customers-in-the-***" policies are ****ing sellers and buyers off alike.
