Don't worry about it, life is full of people like that, just remember to be very busy with something else when they come back asking for help.

Also note

If your only connecting 2 PC you only need a crossover cable, you don't actually need a hub.

If you not connecting to the internet, you can get away with setting up an network on any old IP address, but that's bad practice, although I've seen it donr alot.

The IP space for a Class C network (local) is 192.168.0.*
(Class C is < 254 nodes)

The IP Space for a Class B/A network (local) is 10.0.*.*
(anything greater than 255 nodes.)

Realistically though, if you're going to have more than 200 nodes, they should be split up into subnets (10.0.1.* for east wing, 10.0.0.* for west wing, etc...) considering that a highly dense network will be very slow to operate unless you have a good backbone topology setup.

Actually Class B networks are 172.16.0.0 - 172.31.255.255 just to let you know. I have never seen it used anywhere I mostly see 192.168.*.* use and a few 10.*.*.*

If I am having a bad day, and someone is annoying me, first I try to ignore them, if that fails I punch em'..

even if they are alot bigger than me (which most people are) I still do it, and then they leave me alone..
