Question Siemens SX66 Cell Phone... Any Good?

Hey there I would like some opinions maybe from people who have seen/used/have a Siemens SX66.

I currently have an Audiovox ppc4100 and I like it. I like the Windows Mobile 2003, like the huge touchscreen, and the size doesn't bother me.

I am looking into getting a new phone, well because I like new things. Really though, I would like WiFi and bluetooth capablilities. The only thing that I can think of that it lacks is a camera.

I have read some mixed reviews about the phone, and wondering whether or not it is worth the money. Has anybody integrated it into a CarPC well?

Some of the things I have heard bad about it:
    • Bluetooth dodgy
    • WiFi doesn't auto-reconnect or notice when out of range until soft-reset
    • Freezes when using WiFi and a call comes in
    • Battery life sucks
    • Screen easily damaged
    • Big, bulky
    • Slow backup times

I really want bluetooth and Wifi.
Also I have a Pocket PC phone now, and every now and a gain it does freeze when low on RAM and a phone comes in. Is this what they mean?
Battery life is 4hrs talk time. I can compare with advertised 3.5hr talk time for the ppc4100, which I can get a whole day or two out of.
The screen is equally big and same kind as 4100.
Size is actually just a bit bigger than the 4100 I believe.
I only backup at night so backup speed not a big problem.

Its a pile of crap, dont buy it.

I used to have one from work, just the older model Im sure, this was dating back in 2003. Model is SX....something, cant remember now.

The screen does get scratched so easily, so you got to use screen protector. My ipaq screen is alot tougher, not a single scratch on it after 3 years of use.

I didnt get to experience all the complaints as I only had it for 6 months. But yeah, generally its a crappy thing.

So you like the iPaq better... That was the other option. I'm not too worried about the screen because the 4100 now has the same screen and mine is fine. I put it in a seperate pocket. Keys and change on one side, wallet and phone on the other. So how do you like your iPaq, and which model?

Yeah I like the Ipaqs, the one I have is the 3970 and the 3660. Of course we cant directly compare them with the SX66, the ipaq does not come with a phone built in.

If you want Phone+PDA then sorry I cant help you. I do have the sony ericsson P910i though. I like it, running tomtom GPS on it, just alittle bulky if used as a phone, small as a PDA.

I think he wants GSM though, the XV6700 (While it's a great phone/pda) is CDMA.

I don't see that in the OP.

Edit: Ah, I looked up the Siemens and see that it is GSM.

I do need GSM. I have an old ATT plan with an old blue sim card. Through Cingular now of course.

Thanks for the tips. The KJAM phone is a little too expensive for me. I'm a cheapo. I'll look at the XV6700. I like that. Still kind of pricy.

I'll keep doing my research, and keep the opinions coming. Have you guys gotten your phones (KJAM and XV6700) to interface nicely in the CarPC?

Why not go with one of these:
    Refurb:http://onlinestorez.cingular.com/cel...115&WT.svl=mod
    New:http://onlinestorez.cingular.com/cel...111&WT.svl=mod

Not sure if they are all available in your area. The iPaq has bluetooth and an integrated GPS reciever, just need to get software.
