    iPOD with SD Slot???

I know this sounds crazy, but I got one of those iPOD nano, clones (1gb) thing works great, and I love it..... but, I was on the net the other day and saw all this interesting stuff about hacking the iPOD nano. Then I got to thinking: what if I could find a way to hack my clone to accept an SD slot. The possibilities would be endless. With the two 4GB SD cards I already own, I could shift cards on the fly and carry most of my music with me. What do you guys think ... doable or a crazy pipe dream??

I had a quick look at one of the ipod nano hack, hmm piggy backing another chip wont instantly add the extra gigs. Firstly the extra address line/chip select must be connected to the ipod. Secondly the ipod must have this extra address line on HW. Thirdly the ipod must be aware of that extra address line on the SW and be able to address all the available memory space.

As for hacking your ipod clone,

It depends what sort of memory chips they have used. If they used those parallel data/address chips then you cant just use those SD cards in place. SD cards use serial interface and you would need to somehow converts that parallel<>serial such that your clone would be able to read that SD card you stick in.

Sure it can be done, but you need to know your electronics well.
