Those with GPS, lets go treasure hunting!!!

I found the most awesome thign today..... A sport called Geo-Cashing! People make this little "treasure chest" like cache hidden away very good somewhere. Them they get the gps coordinates and post them to this site http://www.geocaching.com/

So, you use your gps reciever to fidn the cache, take osmethign from it and replace it with soemthing of your own... then you right in the log book that is there... Is that not awesome or what! its a global treasure hunt!

Yeah, that was one of the first things i came across when I was thinking about going gps. only problem is that going with just a receiver as im planning on doing, most of the caches are off the beaten trail (ie in the middle of the woods, not exactly a place where I can get my car). But that withstanding, the geocaching concept kicks ***.

Yeah, a friend pointed me to that site, but I haven't had a chance to try it out yet. I'd also need a handheld gps unit or a palm pilot to go with my tripmate. As soon as I get a free weekend, I'm gonna give it a shot one one of the local ones.
