    sound mixing software

I sure someone here is pretty smart in sound mixing software. Long boring story short, i'm in a band, and my computer is the fastest. We want to be able to record and edit if possible through some sort of software. I'm also wondering if my soundcard can handle this... (Creative Sound Blaster Audigy2 ZS [http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...E16829102178]). I've heard good things about Sony Acid Pro 6, and Abelton Live!, but again this is something new to me, and I'm not quite sure where to go.

Any advice would be greatly appricated.
