Average time till DP closes a thread

You guys get alot of indians on your yahoo messenger?

I started that thread cuse there are many guys on my GFs list kept popping up. Was wondering if her account have been hacked or something.

Then "rafster" stepped in and made some comment, I dont know if thats supposed to be racist or what. Then "kickercivic1" reacted to it, while "P3rv3rt B3ar" is taking all of it as a joke.

Sure theres nothing wrong with a little bit of fun, it wasnt intended to go down that route. I was hoping someone may be able to point me in the right direction. Sure I could have just blocked those guys popping up but I was more concerned of where the problem was and why its happening at the first place.

The closure of that thread made me feel WTF? my thread got closed because of the others? I wasnt even involved in any of the nonsense. It only need a few click from the mod and that thread will be as good as new again. Why close it? This time I wasnt the thread starter, I was the one who want to help out about the oncourse S/W. It got closed again while I was ready to post more, of course Im gonna have to say something this time.

Im not gonna say anymore, I have accepted your apologies and hopefuly some lesson learnt from these events.

Haha... yeah... whenever I say stuff like that, I'm just joking around....

I ahve absolutley no problem with people of other races... except those dumb mexicans....

Because the racist comments don't belong here, even if they are in jest.

Just because you didn't think much of it or I didn't, someone is going to get offended. We offend enough people by telling them they need to look up their own information rather than have someone spoon-feed them.

I abhor racism in any form. The idea that someone can carry hatred for an entire group of people for something as inconsequential as skin color churns my gut.
It's one thing to denounce someone for their actions (such as a n00b asking stupid questions). It's another to denounce them because of race or religion or ethnicity.

I agree entirely with you that racist comment shouldnt be allowed in the forum. But dont you think you should be telling this to the offender? Why didnt you just delete/edit the offending post? On my original post on that thread, the indians happen to be the one that kept popping up. Reason I had to mention the country/race because maybe they have something going on in there that may be out to scam people. As I said a family members PC have been hacked and the little girl was upset about the messages she was getting from this person, which again happen to be from india.

If mentioning race/country is not allowed how come the nigerian scam is proudly mentioned in here? why not just say "a scammer"? Im sure there are good nigerians out there and they may get offended by those kind of threads.

If you read the last post by rafster (not to pick on you rafster, just making a point here). You DP, dont you think this thread may also go down that hill if one happen to be a mexicans? why not just say dumb people?

Again, someone may get offended by his comment even if the race was not mention. So where do you draw the line?

Hmm...do I see multiple standards in here?

An advice to newbies to search doesnt have to be offending. The general trends in here seems to be "lets bash the newbies" attitude. They got offended because they were deliberately offended by the senior members.

Do you remember your very first post? did you search before you post? If not then you are no different from newbies that want to be spoon fed.

No noob question. I posted about a Best Buy ad slick that had a in dash hard drive solution that played MP3s...

New people should help themselves and ask better questions.

Get sound from the PC to the speakers
get power to the (insert location or computer)

If you know Rafster, he's half mexican, half jewish... so he has the right to say bad stuff, even racial about the mexicans, because he's talking to his own ppl... I could just as well bash Hungarians... lol
