Global mp3car expansion :)

A little over 2 years ago I wrote to mp3car.com with a proposal to setup a localized Russian forum. The idea behind this move was that many of Russian enthusiasts have very bad English and they needed mp3car in Russian.
Well, I never got a reply.

Then when mp3car.com started a partnership program, I wrote again with the proposal to create a web site where the shop will be working as a relay for mp3car.com’s shop.
The final proposal was about setting up dealership in Moscow.

I wrote numerous letters on each topic, and still I had no answer.

So as the need for such community grew, the site was soon up and running.
At the beginning all the idea behind the mp3car.ru was a community of carpc enthusiasts with a small online shop to support this community. But as awareness of the mp3car.ru grew, the need of a separate company appeared, to handle the commercial side of the project. So now the mp3car.ru is a privately funded community.
It’s a little over a year old now, the community is growing steadily. It has members from various professional fields closely related to the theme of this community. Electronics engineers, transport industry, telecom, press and others. The community has regular meeting every few weeks to discuss new ideas or just to show off their work, which in turn brings new members in.
The commercial side on the other hand grew rapidly from 1 PSU a month to being a major supplier in Russia for various industries and some government structures.

It’s a pity that mp3car.com didn’t see this.

And now some replies to your posts…
Yes, it began as rip off site and has no association to mp3car.com.
You can’t really compare mp3car.ru to allofmp3.com and Pirate Bay since there is no pirated content on the site and no profit is received from the site.
There is no point in pressing charges, as it will not produce any results. Though copyright laws exist they are almost canceled by the imperfect laws about internet.
No, your username is not taken.

If in any way my site offends mp3car.com, I will be happy to negotiate any changes to the web site or any proposals from mp3car.com.

I dont think it "offends".... but copying the entire design of mp3car.com shows that your site is trying to show users that it is affiliated with mp3car.com...

You are ripping people off, you ripped off the mp3car.com design, you are STILL A RIP OFF SITE.... get your own design... but anyways, you are obviously an amateur, not a professional... that shows by your approach.

I also doubt just about everything you say in your post... I have talked to people from mp3car.com many times... they always reply e-mails, and they have a PHONE... if you wanted something serious, you could have invested a few dollars into a phone call. that is how business works.

And Finally, you say in your post you wanted to have a partnership/dealership/whatever, then you didnt get any responses, so you went ahead and COPIED & RIPPED OFF the entire site design, layout, images, everything and changed it to russian?! and you are here saying you arent being illegitimate?

You are a rip-off. it is obvious.

Look at www.mp3car.com and www.mp3car.ru

Look at the logo you copied exactly, just changed a few letters
Look at the website you copied

Now tell me, does Apple have the same logo as Microsoft? do they have the same website? No, because they are different companies... even if they do the same thing, if apple copied MS's site/logo they would be RIPPING IT OFF, and it would be very ugly on THEIR image... you have shown your image....UGLY

So you don't make any profits by selling hardware? You *****ing kidding me?

So what was the point of STEALING the entire design? Why not make your own?

the company is no longer affilated with the community, right from the few mouths after site appeared. So now mp3car.ru is a non profit, loss generating project managed only its members ....
As for the frontpage, it will be taken down shortly

Poor taste.

If you couldn't determine that it was in poor taste to rip off another companies design. To rip off SOMEONE ELSE's hard work. I'd wonder about the legitimacy of your whole site and 'company'. It does nothing to instill confidence in your customers once they find out that your site is nothing short of a fraud.

It takes someone poor taste, poor judgment, and what must be a classless individual to think that doing something like this is 'ok'.

That site's been around for ages. You can't really copyright the site - only the logos and stuff - if I were them, I'd change that as it's really creepy. The domain name is really a free-for-all and not much anyone can do about it.
It's not like anyone's going to defect now is it...?

i've seen this site quoted a few times in our forums, thought that it was legit as no one had complained about it before. Bugger me! Very creepy!

Looks like it's been changed to "pccar.ru" though the mp3car.ru link is still active. Thanks for doing the right thing!

mp3car.ru as a domain is very good... it doesnt make them steal anything, but copying the entire website, copying the logo (even if they change the name to pccar.ru, but keep the EXACT SAME logo style) is VERY creepy...

Just get a design that looks professional, get a logo that looks professional, and different from mp3car.com's, and you are fine....you will even look more legit! dont try to rip off mp3car.comthinking that you will look good... you look bad doing it!
