... but it seems that it only turned japanise into atomic superhumans, considering their success ever since.

Not exactly. THey'd have to invade first, and that would cost almost as many lives as the Jewish casualties in the Holocaust. They didn't know the long term effects, but a few hundred thousand civilians who were ready to fight to the death because the Emporer told them to versus a few million deaths and the war ending tomorrow...i'd push the big red button too...

And for the record, when the Americnan Embassy, after 9/11 shut down two major roads in my home country that they had no rights to at all as it was not their land, i was ****ed too. I'm not an American is always right and justified guy, sometimes they're not , but sometimes, like that case, they are, and hard decisions had to be made. If any japanese born person or someone who had famaily who immigrated form japan after WWII as a problme wiht what i'm saying, just understnad that if the bombs WEREn'T dropped, your family would more than likely have been killed in the onslaught of the invasion. After the Emporer's decree, there were no more civilians, just untrained soldiers. You know the culture of the time and you know most would fight to the death

I love it when people get hung up so much on the past that they can't see past the cover to see what really happened and why...lol

Not so. You only need to invade a country if you are trying to take them over. To win a war where you are the attackee you only need to repel the attacker.

Also Japan's forces were depleted and the US knew full well they were going to surrender anyway. Plus they dropped 2, as if 1 wasn't enough. It was simply an excuse to test the 2 bomb designs and revenge for pearl harbour, don't kid yourself that it was to save lives.

As an ally I am ashamed of it and Americans should be too but unfortunatly history is glossed over by the winners and we are a bit brainwashed to think that we were right/they were wrong, they were evil/we were good, they committed atrocities/we didn't.

Its nice to forget that we did something wrong but in doing that we don't learn from our mistake.

Actually that is how you defend against an invasion. Top win a war you have to destroy the apposing forces to the point where they give in. Until the bomb, they were not giving in. Were we winning, perhaps. Oh hell, we were winning. But, it was not over. The tide could have easily turned the other way. When Germany rolled over Europe, they were winning. Then the tide turned, and the allies started to win. It aint over till it's over, and after the bomb, it was over.

Whatever the "reason" behind dropping the two bombs is irrelevant. I take a hot chick out to dinner to get in her pants, doesn't mean the chick didn't eat a nice meal. How does someone KNOW that the other side was gonna surrender, cause until they dropped the bomb, HELL even after they dropped the bomb, there was still fighting. The bomb brought the Japenese to surrender MUCH earlier then they would have otherwise.

Perhaps people think they were evil, we were not. The truth is, it was a war, and unfortunately, **** happens during war. The intent was to win the war. It was accomplished. Where are you Elkeed, cause you sig doesn't say.

What was wrong, dropping the bomb, or winning the war, or the atrocities you speak of that both sides commited?
