Also, DP shoud have locked the thread after he posted. There was no reason to keep it open, as it was already ruined.

I think you will find a lot of the longest posts on here belong to him.

You also do not get my point. He is not asking you to do it for him. He is making a valid request for help. If you are not willing to give this help then keep this to yourself do not insult him.

and yes the thread should have been locked earlier. There was plenty of time to do so.

All three parties should have been repremanded. But for different reasons.

Did i say to ban him? no. i did not. and yes hes contributed to this comunnity alot more then i have. there is no doubt about that. but what he said was out of line. I didnt chose the consequences and im sure the ban is not permanant but only a few days. again it was not my call.

Well you did continue to post after DP posted. I would have taken his post as a notice to get back on track (on-topic), but it seem you guys wanted to still argue a point better suited for a new thread or some other type of chat.

Well how i see this: Scouse basicly is this community. If u kick him out, ill bet we r gonna see mass migration to digital car. It doesnt help much to kick him out for day or two, thats harsh and stupid from mp3car.coms part. What if Scouse gets fed up and wont come back? I personally think mods should suck him up to come back, just to keep mp3car store alive... afterall people like Scouse make its revenue.

as for you not wasting time debating with me, oh well my feelings are crushed. it still doesnt change the fact that to put a pc into a car you have to know how to build a pc. doesnt matter if your a brain surgeon or not. that has no bearing on whether or not you know anything about a pc.

Scouse does not want the UK forum being polluted with this mainly american attitude of bashing newbies. The newbie he pointed out the forum to was in the UK. had it been an american newbie then he would have acted differently. I can point you to variosu threads where he has taken this measure with UK people before but never with Americans.

The ban is also fair and just. He got personal. He seems to do that but that is because he loves this forum more than most and does not like seeing it go down the pan.

What would be nice is if he was listened too more buy the moderators on both sides of the pond as joking aside he does not take sides he believes are wrong and has no problem admitting when he is wrong.

Oh and he will be back. Only he wont be back to help newbies out or have so much fun in off topic. He will be back to stamp out this behaviour. That will be fun enough for him.

He has been round here longer than most who are still here and while he is probably ashamed that he resorted to language the way he did i am pretty sure he did it due to being so down right annoyed with the way things are going.

The attitudes on here stink quite frankly and there is no need for it. If you dont like someone asking for help then ignore it. someone will answer them. The amount of information on this forum is now overwhelming. Back 2 years ago when i started things were a lot simpler yet spoon feeding went on back then.

There is a natural progression of people on here:

1. people come in and dont know much and learn. Peope learn in different ways and at different speeds.

2. People get to know more and then they take over the basic questions and help new people

3. they get more and more involved so move up the ladder. leaving their successors to take over.

4. Occasionally they go back into the newbie section and keep an eye on things.

5. Eventually they leave. what they have done and learnt and taught has been passed on.

now where it goes wrong is number 4 - people go in and bash.

now let me put this to you:

If a brain surgeon wanted to install a carPC but knew nothing about PCs would you flame him for asking? most people probably these days. But if that person went to see the brain surgeon with a tumor and he said "i'm not going to tell you were the tumor is but here is a medicine book

Actually, if someone posted a very specific question such as that, which involved some specialty knowledge (where the tumor is, how to treat it) he would most likely get an answer.

If someone walked up to a brain surgeon, and said, What is a brain, he would tell him to go read a book. If someone walked up to me and said, what is the law, I would tell him it is mans attempt to regulate society. If he asked me, Tell me about the laws, which should I follow, how should I follow them, what do I need to do, if he aint paying me, I am gonna tell him to take a hike. I was nicer here, and gave him a link. Notice that a link was given. He was given the information. When my mom had a kidney tumor, do you think that every question she had about the tumor, the surgery, and everything else she called the doctor. Nope, she, my mother who at that time was 40 something, got on the web. Not only that, I had to teach her how to use a search engine and navigate a page. AND, she was paying the surgeon BIG BUCKS for the surgery (or at least the insurance covered a chunk of it)

It is no different. The dude came in asking a question heard over and over here. It is a VERY basic question. Then to top it off, no one said, search, damn noob, idiot, **** off, leave us alone. I posted a link to exactly what he needed. Scouse thinks something else, but instead of answering the question, sends him off to another place to get the answer. Well, you know what, if you don't like the answer your doctor gives you, go somehwere else, but to stand there and have someone else yell at the doctor is rediculous. If you think that doctor wouldn't answer back, then you are delusional.

I am sorry, did I miss something. Is Scouse the end all, be all. What Scouse says, goes. If he posts in a thread, all posting must stop because Scouse has said something. Do you follow him around like a little puppy also?

Get real. It is not my responsibility to make sure Scouse acts like a human being in a thread. He must control himself. I certainly can't, won't, and mustn't try to control him.

He took the thread off topic. He didn't add one nugget of info to the thread. All he did was go off on Red and me, and ***** abouth the state of this forum.

Nothing more.
