This person needs to learn. Sometimes people need help to learn new things. As a brain surgeon he is probably far more intelligent than you are I but his life is busy with other things and his strengths are in other areas. He may turn out to be an absolute god at making skins for Road Runner in his spare time on his yacht so why should you, of all people, bash him for asking questions?

Give him pointers on where to look - yes

Give him specific advice to anything non-standard - yes

But flame him for asking? - no.

We are not machines. A machine would search and come up with the same answer time after time.

I am going to single this part out michael as i too have been in a similar situation only it was me not a relative.

Are you telling me that:

1. your mother did not find a lot of wrong and worrying information when she searched the web?

sounds familiar to this place eh?

2. The surgeon was being paid....so if people on here were being paid they would not flame newbies? how does that work? non of us do this for money. The mods dont. People who write a lot of the software dont? Why does everything have to come down to the dollar bill?

It isn't a matter of if he can or will. it is a matter of my mom having enough sense to look up the information herself.

And besides, like I said, if he getting paid, he damn well better answer the questions. Here, no one is getting paid.

did i say bash him? im pretty sure i said i would ask him if he knew how to build a pc. and that would be the first place i would direct him to. if he doesnt have the time to learn, being a brain surgeon and all, i would direct him to a place that he could pay someone to do it for him. being that hes a brain surgeon i would hope he could afford it.

As for intelligence of this so called brain surgeon, whether he or I, are smarter then one another matters not. The Question at hand is not who's smarter.

Oh and for your information, he did infact point the guy to the uk forum as he was being flamed so he could get help.

First, I NEVER said Scouse was not guilty for his own actions, but it seems you feel you are not guilty for yours. He has even admitted he crossed the line.

Second, How are you so special that you can continue to keep the thread off-topic? Is it OK because some else started it? You are to blame just as much as Scouse or ANYBODY else who posted after DP posted. I didn't see you add any "nuggets" to the thread either.

Maybe you should learn to own up to your own actions.

I see this a lot with the Cobra. Yes i can learn about supercharging and do it myself which takes hours and hours and i pester people on forums for information OR i can do as a lot of people suggest and go buy an engine already supercharged.

They miss the point. I want to do it myself.

Same with the doctor. He wants to do it but he needs some basic pointers to et him started. He WILL also have some unique parts to what he is doing as, like i have already said, no carPc is the same.
