It is not the dollar bill. It is the attitude that people owe people something. I see it time and time again. A noob comes here, posts a simple question that can be answered in a 10 second search, gets told to search, and then goes off because we didn't help him. I DON'T HAVE TO GIVE HIM THE ANSWER, but I HAVE helped him by telling him to search.

And yes, my mom did find disturbing information. And some of it was conflicting. Those are advanced questions beyong the, what is a tumor question. Certainly the doctor answered those, along with several noob questions my mom had.

Notice my first post. What did I do?????? That is right, I gave him a link. I told him what he needs by linking him to the exact spot to get it.

I am not REQUIRED to give more info then that. And, if I want to post a curt, to the point answer, I can do that if I want to. Even in the noob section, to a noob.

Scouse should have answered his questions if he was so worried about the guy getting flamed and no answers. Trust me, scouse, with 10 million posts, could have come into the thread and said, Hey, don't listen to them, this is what you need......

He didn't do that.

Get over the fact you posted a link. Is that your only saving grace point?, because you keep pointing it out.

In that repect I told him "Computer parts", so I did nothing wrong.

Lets just say i agree with you *****ed. I totally understand about wanting to do things yourself. Not disagreeing at all with that.

I would still direct him to learn how to build a pc. That is the most basic knowlege you need before you make this kind of jump. Even if i told him to build a home pc first. That way he learns what a mother board is. what ram is, what a hard drive is. Then after he puts it together hell have to learn how to install things. Like how to format a drive, How to set everything up. How to install programs. You have to start at the beginning if you want to make it to the end.

firstly - i am not suprised that is what you mother found and I hope she has made a good recovery.

Second - your 1st point - attitudes bout owing something - exactly. I do not understand why you must owe someone or be owed. This is life, not business. But by telling him to simply search you may not really help. Try giving key words - i have seen this apprach used before.

thirdly: you are not required to give more but if you are not then walk away. no nasty comments or anything - walk away. But if we all did that then were would we be? Has scouse ever asked anything off anyone for helping them? no. has anyone? no.

Exactly, it is my saving grace in this thread and this thread alone. Tell me why you think it is not? What do you think I should have done more, and why? Actually, I think there is nothing wrong with what you posted. I found it quite humerous. Why didn't SCOUSE lambast you for it? how come you didn't incur the wrath of Scouse on his Anti Anti Noob crusade?

He should have lumped you into our group as well.

I stand by that saying.

For a basic question, you should get a basic answer. And I felt that DP could inject anything he felt appropriate, in a way that only DP can provide.

There was nothing bashing about it. It certainly didn't malign or belittle the OP.

Was it OT, perhaps, but certainly I didn't see anything wrong with it, still don't.

i haven't read the tread, b/c i don't have the time/patience to, with my car out of order again, fricking plastic pise that got me a vacuum leak broken, now i can't drive the car... AASRRGGGHHH... but one thing i have to say. Red started to akt a littlebit "agrevated" at things lately. First spelling, than ppl asking stupid/easy question... dunno. But i'm only mad at her for one reason. She bashed a fellow VDubber. No real VW guy/gal bashes another VW guy/gal. That is betrayal... and it'll take time to forgive...

i say give red a few days off too... but that's just my opinion... For once Scouse tried to help out a noob defending him, and he gets banned? What has this forum become to?
