How does this reputation thing work?

It's not really anything - it's just reputation. You can give someone a leg up on their reputation if they make a useful/not-so-useful post.
As you can see, it's taken on a slight twist....

It usually does on forums, at least how I have seen it before. Sometimes it becomes a ****ing contest, sometimes it takes a weird twist. I haven'tever really seen it work out correctly before, though

I still can not rep. I am at ten people and my last known rep was yesterday at 12:55am. So I guess you can only rep 10 people in a rolling 24 hours.

So you only give 10 reps in a rolling 24 hours and have to rep 20 other people before you can rep the same person again.

haha you know, i knew it would be a matter of time until we figured out how to exploit this little system. All it needed was someone to ask the right question and users to tinker wiht it. BND asked the right question. Everythign else followed like dominoes. I love it!
