    Lightbulb IR photography

I had lots of time and was bord so I got one of my digital cams
that I hate - it took bad pics, well they were at a good rez and clear
but almost no color, and it records video in the same way -
its an Eujoy M Catch - looks like a cell phone

I removed the IR filter - I "did not use" old film as another filter
I just left that part off

well here is one pic - and then how it looks with just regular light
    - taken with 2 different cams

now I have and IR viewer and IR video recorder

Here are a few links about IR photography with a digital camera/webcam

how does it work at night? Does it have a video out or can you use it as a webcam. If so, it'd make a great nightvision cam to help with backing up or supplement night drtiving. (among other uses hehehe)

it could - but not by it self - you need an IR light source
and yes this cam has webcam -

Scratch that - just tried using my real night vision stuff
using its IR light the Eujoy M Catch is crappy at night - useless

I think good number of digital cams/webcams can modded like this
but you need to find one that works good low light - most dont

try the cheap B/W cams, I have one that seams to do well in low light
it was a security cam I got at wallmart, $20 - and it can see IR now
and has IR leds in it - but not very far away from the cam
