This is all over the forum, beside common sense will tell you that you can use a car-to-laptop adaptor, most are universals.

So at least you know now what it feels like when you don't know something that is all over the forum.

    Hey, nobody is perfect....
I don't pay attention to anything for the HP eVectra units, since it doesn't play into my project. Considering that the HP eVectra is a low-profile desktop model (not a laptop), one wouldn't expect there to be a DC adapter for it. Sure, a universal laptop adapter would work.

I stand by my recommendation of the Carnetix P1900 for the additional features it offers, such as 5v output for external devices, startup controller, etc.
Have you looked in the FAQ yet?
    How about the Wiki?

But you expect perfection from the other.

You get easily irritated when the noobs did not comply to your little rules.

First of all, they aren't my rules. I don't put them in place. I was enlisted to help enforce them, period. If you have issues with the rules, take that up with the administrators.
Second of all, there is a difference between a newbie (or newb) and a n00b, by my definition.

A newbie is simply someone who is new, plain and simple.
A n00b is someone who refuses to listen to practical advice, doesn't follow the rules and doesn't bother to even attempt to learn or research anything on their own. N00bs want information handed them on a silver platter in the form of a step-by-step instruction manual that is written in words of no more than two syllables.
Yes, I get irritated with n00bs. So does anyone else who has been involved with any forum (particularly technical-oriented forums) for any length of time.

If you have an issue with myself or any other moderators, take it up with the administraotrs. Don't drag down someone else's thread.
    That's just uncool.

I've moved all the mod-bashing to a new thread in Off Topic so that the OP can have a thread containing information and not just "we hate DP & Red" posts.

    excuse me?

I'd encourage you to go back a few months and crawl out from your little hole you've apparently been living in.

It amazes me how some people can be stuck in the past for so long.

No kidding. But I don't remember you really doing any hardcore noob bashing to begin with...

The only guys that really bash noobs that I've seen ever are wired and FC3S.

How many people really know/care that these machines have car adapters for them?

Most of us opt to build our own car PC's than to use a ready built desktop that wasn't really designed for CarPC use.

Who in their right mind would use an HP as a carPC? If ya got one lyin around, that's one reason... that's all I can think of.

    Thanks tidder.

The only people I've ever REALLY gone off on were people that I felt were making BIG mistakes and endangering themselves (bad wiring jobs).

Else, the occasional jab at a newbie to get them to get active and do some research might have been over the top at times....but I've really tried to tone it down quite a bit.
