silly cops and there speed traps
GOOD: A policeman had a perfect spot to watch for speeders, but wasn't
getting many. Then he discovered the problem--a 10 year old boy was standing
up the road with a hand painted sign which read "RADAR TRAP AHEAD". The
officer then found a young accomplice down the road with a sign reading
"TIPS" and a bucket full of change. (And we used to just sell lemonade.)
BETTER: A motorist was mailed a picture of his car speeding through an
automated radar. A $40 speeding ticket was included. Being cute, he sent the
police department a picture of $40. The police responded with another mailed
photo of Handcuffs.
BEST: A young woman was pulled over for speeding. As the motorcycle officer
walked to her car window, flipping open his ticket book, she said, "I bet
you are going to sell me a ticket to the Highway Patrolmen's Ball." He
replied, "Highway patrolmen don't have balls." There was a moment of silence
while she smiled, and he realized what he'd just said. He then closed his
book, got back on his motorcycle and left. She was laughing too hard to
start her car for several minutes.

According to a friend of mine, his mother tried that last one. She was pulled over on the Interstate and the cop came to her window and asked her if she knew why she had been pulled over. She responded, "Umm, because you want to sell me a ticket to the State Trooper's ball?" He said, "No ma'am. I'm a county sherrif and we don't have balls."
She got a speeding ticket anyway.

Constant Bitrate
How ironic that I just came home and read this thread... I just got a damn ticket on the way home. My first too.
But hey, I did better than most of my friends, I made it a year before my first. (I got my license at 16 and I turned 17 in April).
But I can't complain too much I am almost always speeding like 5 over and the area is a known speed trap. But there hasn't been anyone there in a long time... anyway I know I can get traffic school and have nothing on my record if the judge is nice. I'm more afraid of my mom...lol. It's not even right, she is 38 and has never gotten a ticket. She has been pulled but never gotten anything more than a verbal warning. So I know I'll never hear the end of it. My dad on the other hand, even though I am sure he won't be all sunshine about it, is a truck driver and has had many.
Well my court date is July 19. Perfect way to ruin my summer...lol Seriously though I will be fine with it as long as my mom doesn't kill me...wish me luck.
