My shoulder's not supposed to do that.

I was helping my best friend unload her uhaul on Sunday, and I totally screwed up my shoulder. I put a box up on my shoulder and the weight shifted on me. My hand was on top of the box, so when it fell backwards my arm twisted in a manner in which it was not designed for. It hurt for an hour maybe, then I was back moving boxes and putting up curtains.

So today (Wednesday), I noticed that I couldnt raise that arm over my head. It didnt hurt, I just lost some range of motion. One of the guys I work with used to be a sports medicine guy, so I asked him about it. He has me do some arm movements, then goes over to my manager and tells her that I need the rest of the day off, 'cause I'm going to the doctor.

Long and short of it is that I have effed up the sac of lubricating fluid, which is better than what me, my freind, and the nurse thought--torn rotator cuff. No surgery (hopefully), but I've got to go back on Monday if I'm not 100%.

    Good luck with that.
My wife injured herself the same way at work, and she still has issues with her shoulder.

i have a torn rotator cuff and its no fun. i went from a 145- 155lb kid who could opick up and literally throw a 255lbs guy (i used to wrestle in HS and a little in college, let's just say the marine corps wannabes and body builder/football kids liked to practice on me.) to not being able to lift more than 5-10lbs without pain. Its been healing up nicely though...though its been 9 months +. Get PT, do tai chi. Both together realy did wondes in a couple months

My clavicle didnt heal right about 6 years ago. To this day, that shoulder has a weird range of motion and starts hurting at odd times when I work out...

my shoulders been messed up for about 12 years since it was shattered in a kickboxing tourny. long stry short, im now missing a little bit of bone that holds the shoulder in place, and can pop my shoulder in and out of socket at will. It took me a year of physical therapy to build up muscle in the shoulder to hold the arm in place under normal conditions so i could use the arm like normal. lots of excersizes with rubber tubing etc. lol. long story short, everythigns pretty much fine now days,(except the pain when the weather changes drasticaly) but hurting the shoulder is nothing to take lightly. take it easy on it and make sure it gets better before you put any real stress on it again.
