There's nothing you can do. I've tried everything. Used to think I was smart and knew all the little tricks...wrong. Only thing you can do is suck the judges dick...you are now at his mercy; he can do what he wants with you.

I just have to say WRONG. I have been cited 7 times, and been convicted only once. Never felated the judge once.

Yes, if you have no or little legal education, you get screwed, or it more difficult. Like the idiots I have seen in court, fight a speeding ticket by swearing that, since their car is a 1988 or whatever year nissan, THERE IS NO WAY THEY COULD BE SPEEDING. Obviously, that won't work

People often times think they have a great defense, which legally doesn't hold any water. You have to learn what is a good defense, and of course, try to exploit all the procedural tricks you can.

Now, there is, of course, no guarantee that you can beat every ticket, or any ticket, but a blanket statement like what you stated, is just plain wrong.

I had gotten very similar tickets as the OP did. Running a red light and doing 55 in a 30, at the sametime. I was able to get it reduce both tickets to a seatbelt violation and only got 1 point instead of the 9 or 11 points it would have been.

take it to a mechanic you know and tell them that your speedo is broke. Some kid when i went in long time ago did that and got off lol.

Alright, maybe I should elaborate more. I've gotten many tickets and most do get reduced but it's not like I'm getting off. And there are a lot of factors that go into it. If any of you have read the book "how to bet the cops," then you kind of know what I'm talking about.

My situation is pretty much like this. 16 -19 years old having a red sports car with his parents name on the insurance...I have a far less chance of getting off than the average person.

An example of me not getting off...I was about 85 in a 60 on the highway. Cop pulls me over, chubby short biker cop that was hiding behind a pillar. Conversation goes like this:

cop: liscence and insurance...do you know how fast your were going?
me: I didn't think I was going much over 60. I wasn't really looking at the speedometer but people were passing me.
cop: I have you on radar going 83
(I know he didn't radar me because my V1 didn't go off)
me: Man, I really don't think I was going that fast.
(cop leaves to go write me the tickets)
(cop comes back with two tickets...one for speeding 83/60 the other for not having insurance on me)
me: Is there a way I can see the radar, it just didn't feel anywhere close to 83.
cop: Are you calling me a liar?
me: No sir, I would just like to see it for myself
(cop goes back to his gun and messes with it for like 10 minutes, like he's searching for a speed in the history)
cop: there you go...shows me the speed and it was 81 NOT 83.
(this tells me he just searched for a speed in the history close to the one he told me I was going)
(the cop then gave me an ADDITIONAL ticket for me tag)
So I took it to court thinking that I could fight this...I mean the ******* cop lied. Judge told me that he doesn't have to use radar and he is trained to pick up the speed without it so I had to pay the ticket anyways.

Yeah, so like I said sometimes you just can't do ****. The judge can do what he wants. Also, small towns will **** you over because they need the money.

Just because you got convicted, doesn't mean that you will be convicted each time. AND it is not a matter of WHAT HAPPENED, it is a matter of what can be PROVEN in court. Just walking into court, and saying, Hey, the cop is lying (geez, how many times do you think the judge has heard that one?) is not gonna work. Catching the cop in a lie, proving he is lying, that works. There are several other techniques that can be used. You just have to learn them.
