    Monitor/Keyboard/Mouse switch box...

At work, my dad has 4 computers running in his room, with 4 monitors, mice and keyboards.. the question is, can I simply make a switchbox with 4 inlets, and 4 outlets to switch between which computer uses the external devices.. I know these are available to purchase, but was wondering if they are just a simple switch, of it they have some type of boosting circuit in them.. Thanx in advance...

    Re: Monitor/Keyboard/Mouse switch box...

dont bother to make one..... good ones have circuits to trik the PC into thinking that the mouse/keybrd/monitor is still connected to the PC.... cheapy ones do not and cause alot of trubble....

with that in mind they are NOT cheap for a good quality switchbox, and I have seen cheap ones blow keyboard input circuits on mobo's etc...

    you have been warned....

I now expect another 12 posts about how 'I will modfiy an old PSU to make it work.... and throw in a few linear regs too!'
