cartoon about a family BBQ - WTF - are they evil or something

BTW if you have not watched this movie - its good, but sad, real sad,
and the brother and sister die real slow, its based on a true story,
except in real life the dude lived, he later wrote the story - to make
up for letting her die - his pride killed his sister
