My digital clock in my truck has been going off and on and now is completely off. So I popped it out took it apart, put it back together...and for some reason it turned back on...but after putting my dash back together it turned off again. So I started to play with it...basically, flick it once with your finger to turn it off...and one more time to turn it back on. Its one of those problems.
Here is a picture of it
Basically the 4 holes on the board connect to the 4 prongs on the plastic piece...the springs sit on the prongs and "should" provide a connection between the two. For some reason it just dies. I know this isnt much info, but its all I got...a new clock is $325!! Im not going to pay that!! Any suggestions?
Soder them? or canabalize the springs from a ball point pen and replace them? or this :)
Sort of working...
Well I tried the spring replacement...used mechanical pencil springs....they werent small enough and blew a fuse in my truck. :( So then I soldered them. Well it works better than before, but it still goes out occasionally. I think Im gonna hit up a junk yard for one. Hopefully the clocks are the same for most toyota's.
