are links in the signature line cross posts?

One of the rules for classifieds states :
"DO NOT cross post your sales"

If I understand that rule (and I prob don't) an obvious cross post would be "hey I'm selling one of those widgets too . . . here's the link" or "I dissagree, Donkey Kong is the best game ever made and Here's a link to a widget I'm selling"

Is adding a link to a FS post in the signature cross posting?

Is adding a link to your website cross posting?

What if the website had your post?

Anyone have a better example of a cross post?

Cross posting would be posting a link to your FS thread in a separate thread/post. For example this thread.

I've seen adverts in some signature lines . . .. (for homepages, product and the like)
Can a for sale thread be in the sig line?

I'm assuming that's not okay but I want to be sure.

I have seen many people put their for sale threads in their Sigs, I don't see anything wrong with that. I don't uderstand this cross posting rule either.
I think you should be albe to post a link for your sale thread in anther thread if you are letting someone know that you are selling something. but I don't think you should be allowed to post a link to your thread in another for sale thread.

the way I've interpreted the rule is that you shouldn't post the same question in multiple places, and in regards to the classifieds section....you shouldn't post in someone elses FS thread with a link to your sale item..like if you're asking less than the other person, etc.
