    laptop display solution

I am looking for one such solution. I recently bought a laptop and I love it, the only thing is that the srceen could be a little bit brighter. I have checked settings and I also don't think there are any external knobs or adjustments.

The comp runs win 2000 and in looking at display properties/advanced/colormanagement/add,

There are a bunch of color setting options. Will these do what I am looking for, or am I way off base here.

    Thanks

To make the screen brighter, you need a brighter backlight or a different screen. There isn't much you can do software wise.

What kind of trouble will I have to go through to change out the backlight. And if I do that would it work, or is this something I best not start messing with.

    Thanks arby

On my lcd, you slide out the old one, and slide in a new one. It just depends on how much you have to take apart the laptop to get to the lcd.

Also, you don't want to get too much brighter, because a brighter one will put additional load on the inverter, and produce more heat

so in conclusion.....you think that the standard compaq armada m700 screen should be just fine? I seem to be getting used to it, I had just expected it to look more like other laptops I have seen.
