He has done no worse than many other foreign dictators, or <cough> local <cough> Bush <cough> in my opinion. All this is going to do is put him on a pedestal and there will be more violence in his name. He knew how to run that country, and now nobody alive does. Sad really.
Usually I get the same "get out of our country" and "support our troops you god damned hippie" whenever I voice my opinion on this matter, and I won't be surprised if I hear it some more...

That's pretty offensive and frankly, strikes me as ignorant.
This isn't playing around with semantics, you know. This is a mass murderer who terrorized a country full of people. I'm sure as hell no Bush defender, but saying "I don't think he deserved it" and then implying the Bush is no different than Saddam is really offensive to me and from what I've seen of you online you ought to be a lot more sensible than that.
I'm sure this comment won't allow for a reasonable exchange on this topic and will instead send this thread into orbit and eventual closure, but for once, I'm with 01331 on this.

sadaam had what was coming to him. Its called Karma. He tortured and killed a lot of Turks(in the onehundred thousand range) in his 20yr reign. he also killed as well as torutured 148 Shiatt muslims within a short period of time(i think it was like a month or so, I may be wrong) but over all he commited a crime on Humanity and Karma bit him in his a$$.
I think it was about 5yrs ago where The US. military found a warehouse in Iraq that a lt of dead bodies from when the Dessertstorm was held. he also had a human blender(thats sick in my books)

Why is osama so invincible ? why cant we find him & put him in his place. i feel he is a much bigger threat than saddam.
