    Going to school missing tv shows

    I really dont know what to get whats out there? I know about tivo which you have to pay for. I have analog cable. Dont say use a vcr.

    Something with a ethernet connection if thats possible. I think tivo uses a phone line?

    MythTV box is what I used. Basically a special linux distro that is window's like easy to install and its sole purpose in life is to be a media center.

    Also a MediaCenter PC.

    For both of those you will need some serial-infrared controller to change channels.

    And you can get quite a few generic DVR/PVR devices that don't require a subscription like the crap that is tivo.

    Why ethernet? Do you want to control it remotely too?
