    Hey WizardPC,

Any news on the potential move ?

As others have said, 90K is well above average and you'll live comfortably anywhere in Australia. As for the destination though, I'm happy to give Melbourne a wrap. It has been voted the worlds most liveable city in the past, and is the sporting captial of the world. There's plenty of MP3Car members in Melbourne too.

This made me laugh....... Don't think I know anyone who's had these type of experiences. It's not a huge factor over here. No doubt someone will post their opposing view/experience though.

Ah the Kangaroos....... They never seem to run on time.

For the record... I have also been to New Zealand in the past for my honeymoon, and ironically I still saw plenty of the country. Thought it was great.

    Cheers,

There's a girl now, so I'm likely not to go. They haven't contacted me at all about this since January, and I just started a new job on Monday (yay for $25,000 pay raises!)

If they call me again in, oh, 2 years, then I'll go. Life happens.

bummer. oh well at least your only missing out on a job offer in sydney. if it was in melbourne, then i'd be getting upset.

sydney is really a let down. we had a guy start a new job here 9 months ago. he is now leaving to move back to norway. reasonable wage ($70,000), pretty nice job, but was still too far from the lifestyle he wanted (sydney is very hectic, especially i guess cmpared to Norway!). when he applied for the job, they also offered a position in Melbourne. he says if he had of taken that position up first, he wouldnt be moving back!

to outsiders, Sydney really seems like the be-all and end-all to Australia, when really it isnt. its just the beginning. the rest is much nicer!

I don't necessarily agree. Like any big city, It's what you make of it. Yes it's a little more hectic than other capitol cities in Oz, but it is still one of the most beautiful cities in the world.

That's a shame, i live in sydney and its a beautiful city. 90k is more than enough n its true that transportation sucks! Its very multicultural here, so a lot of great food and cultures to experience. However, theres been alot of racial tension in the last couple of months. Did u hear about the cronulla riots? Not very fun. Other than that, if u do get the offer again. GO FOR IT!
