    have you tried in another OS? Windows may fail because of the weird drive formatting. I would burn a free knoppix disc and see if the drive registers. If it doesn't then try another mac. If that doesn't work, it is unreadable!!!

    no problem. Just burn the ISO file, stick it in, and it boots up to linux. No installation required. Stores everything on a RAMdrive too so it is like it was never even there.

    Every hac-.... err, I mean computer tech needs a copy!

    Ok so after i burn the iso and load linux what do I do from there? Just plug the drive in via usb? And maybe knoppix will read it?

    Well your best bet would be have it plugged in already either via USB or IDE. During it self install to the RAMdrive, it checks for any connected USB drives. If it finds any, it installs a driver that should work. Very user friendly for being linux. I was very impressed.

    Even has a GUI and everything! It shows up just like in windows with a drive picture called /dev/# where # is the number of the drive and you click it and it pops up an explorer-esque window where drag and drop is allowed.

    Pretty much like free windows. Well, legal free windows.

    So i got the Software Install CD from my friend and i started to MAC with the cd and the software install CD does not list the HDD so the HDD is not mounted!! I think the drive may be dead!
