2k1toaster - Hybrids eh. From now on we'll call you captain planet. They're still too expensive over here for them to be anywhere near mainstream.

Raf - The commodore is the standard 6 cylinder Holden family car. They move up into v8's with the SS (Pontiac G8) and then up again into the Monaro's (Pontiac GTO's). Then there's HSV (Holden Special Vehicles) which make the 327kw versions of the Monaro etc.

The standard commodores ar rear-wheel drive. You can get an all-wheel drive wagon version of a commodore called an Adventra. They are available in v6 or v8 configs.

Hybrids are NOT mainstream around here. SUV's and tricks are popular and I think it is disgusting. When you get single digit gas mileage and don't give a ****, something is wrong with you.

I see people all the time who are most definately not in construction or any other field where a pickup would be required and they drive huge 6 wheeled diesel trucks that are 1 and a half parking spaces wide and stick out the back of the space by a good meter!

It costs me $30 of premium gas every 2-3 weeks for my car and I am a delivery driver. My mom's takes about $40 every 2 weeks with the weakest gas mileage of the lot. She gets half of what I get (20-22) and I get around 40mpg.

One guy I spoke too said he paid over $1000 to travel 1 way from New Jersey to Colorado driving his truck.

Last time we drove, it was $200 to get from here to southern ontario Canada.

    That too is another rant.

And I remember the Captain Planet shows! I used to watch those along with Godzilla and Godzuuuuuuukiiiiiiiii

There's no such thing as a 2 door commodore. That's the Monaro or the HSV coupe'.
The one on Top Gear was the 5.7L v8. They now come with a 6L V8

Jolt was a great soda. Kind of tasted like coke but with twice the Caffeine. And i drank it in the 80's from a bottle. It was the first energy drink. way before red bull hit the market in the USA. I even heard once that there was a Double Jolt Cola. I never saw it though so im not sure.

I saw that on TV. Awesome race. Kirby Chambliss USA took first place One more month for the 2007 races! I was waiting for some sweet plane crashes. Probably better then Nascar crashes.
