They use less than 2% salt here. Mostly gravel. And it does seem that everytime I get a carwash, I get snow!
Yes. On "Cheyenne Mountain" where NORAD is. They are in my backyard basically. If I were to stand on my roof, I could see the hige cave entrance. Of course the tower guards would probably get a tad nervous! :lol:
They use pure salt here. hangars full of it. picking it up with a dozer and get it in a truck. yeeeehaaa..... Anybody interested in a rustbucket?:( Really, you should see some cars here after they'd been through a thick layer of snow and then on the road where they just dropped salt......
That's what they do on the east coast. But here in the mountains gravel is more accessable than salt, and their goal isn't to melt it, it is to add traction. Here it gets so cold usually that any attemps to salt it, will melt the snow to ice and freeze. So they have given up pretty much and just through gravel and sand to give us some us grip.
