Never get your car washed, indeed Although all the sault won't do your car any good.... Now that I come to think about it, it was snowing a few weeks ago, and I never got my car washed afterwards.....

My car's 15years old... No rust whatsoever..... Will be different now probably
They use less than 2% salt here. Mostly gravel. And it does seem that everytime I get a carwash, I get snow!

Yes. On "Cheyenne Mountain" where NORAD is. They are in my backyard basically. If I were to stand on my roof, I could see the hige cave entrance. Of course the tower guards would probably get a tad nervous!

They use pure salt here. hangars full of it. picking it up with a dozer and get it in a truck. yeeeehaaa..... Anybody interested in a rustbucket? Really, you should see some cars here after they'd been through a thick layer of snow and then on the road where they just dropped salt......

That's what they do on the east coast. But here in the mountains gravel is more accessable than salt, and their goal isn't to melt it, it is to add traction. Here it gets so cold usually that any attemps to salt it, will melt the snow to ice and freeze. So they have given up pretty much and just through gravel and sand to give us some us grip.

    Where in CO are you?

Right now I am thinking of heading home... Since it started snowing it already has a good 1/4" on the road... It is working too fast for my blood.

Did it just start snowing? I mean it really was sunny and high 60's when I looked out the window, then I look again, and it is a blizzard! Only in CO...

    I'm in COS btw.

Started snowing early, stopped for a bit then really got to it.
I am up by the foothills and generally see more snow than the rest of Dnver Metro area.
