Hummers And American Cars Suck!

American cars suffer from a vicious cycle. Most americans want alot for almost next to nothing. So in turn the parts companies must make cheaper parts for american companies who have to sell cheap cars to the cheap american public. Then when the part doesn't perform up to par, they wonder why

IMO here are some simple ways to tell if a car is desgined well.

1) Does the engine look like it was just thrown in there- wires running every which direction, no thought given to routing of anything, or did they give some thought into the fact people actually look under the hood sometimes?

2) How does the door close? Easily and a nice quiet click, or a large push and a huge thud (americans think that is quality if it sounds like a tank)

3) Is everything possible in the interior made of cheap looking plastic you could snap in half or is it flexible and has a decent amount of give to it.

Added:

4) Huge rebates given out = huge profit margin and overcharging for garbage

Just my random thoughts on car build quality.

Com'on guys, they need to make cheaper/broken cars so they can keep the part manufactures, service department/garage busy and that help create jobs for our fellow americans.

I would rather ship my car to China to be serviced than from a Walmart "specialist" who just yesterday was stocking the produce department.

I should have ementioned it must meet all 4 requirements

ALos, everything old was built like tanks. HEll I ahd a aVCR that was 20 years old and the case was made of metal and weighed a ton. try to find that nowadays.

My companies produces plenty of parts, some good some bad, but my old boss used ot always say, Better to make junk then nothign at all, plus I'd be out of a job if all the parts were perfect. hahahaha

LEt me just say this...GM keeps us very busy here

I have to say I feel safr inside my car now, since I've added dampingmats. Before, it sounded just like bare metal, now it sounds almost like old german car (it's an old french car

)
