    NEW PLUGIN: iPod Support

Building on top of openMobiles device framework, we have launched a new ipod support plugin. This plugin automatically reads the ipods internal database when it is plugged in or when openMobile is started and provides an ipod source to music skins. This source allows you full access to all of the music on your ipod (including custom titles, star ratings and genres), apple cover art (which is not saved as ID3 tags) and even your iPod playlists. Combined with the new music skin, this allows for one touch access to anything on your iPod.

Not yet..we should have that support rolling out on windows in 2-3weeks and linux shortly after (waiting on some work from the gtkpod project being committed to the kernel)

Legally not possible...so only jailbroken iPhones are supported.

Thats fine, I have been jailbroken for a long time. Is there anything needed besides the plugin?

I haven't actually tested this but your iphone needs to be setup as a removable drive (theres quite a few different apps that do this) and then it should show up in the list of sources in OM.

Not sure if that will work, even with a jailbroken iphone....as using the removeable drive programs just lets you create drive partitions on the phone, not give you access to the files on the phone itself.

It seems that even with a lot of the third party apps on Windows that let you access the phones files, still need to have itunes installed to get the various usb driver packages.

    But I could be wrong!

What about this? Just going off the description but it sounds like what we need and doesn't require iTunes.

Heh, thats actually the program I use to transfer files on and off my iphone 3gs, as I use it to store my VM backups

Only downside, I believe it still needs the apple usb drivers, which are installed when you install itunes...

If there is someone who wants to try installing just the apple mobile device drivers, and then trying i-funbox to see if it works, then we might have some options here.

I have attached the 64 bit mobile device drivers from my work computer, i'll see if I can dig up the 32 bit ones, and attach those too, although that would have to wait till I can get home onto my laptop (Its the only 32bit machine I have left with itunes installed!).

Or, if anyone is running 32 bit windows, it is stored under:

    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers
    Attached Files Attached Files
