    Just starting this

Something I started playing with tonight. Immature and in it's infancy.

As a designer... this will be done and redone 47 times before I decide to accept it will never be what I really want.

Its looking good BBW (heh, not a good acronym for your nickname, sorry dude!).

Nice and clean, good starting point.

Nice to see more people starting to skin for other setups, keep up the work!

I'm waiting for things like the next version of OM, and some more skins, before I start testing OM out as a replacement for centrafuse in the car, so this is good to see

Thanks but as I said this is so in it's infancy.

I suggest putting the exit button way off in a corner where it is less likely to be pressed accidentally.

Looking good! Nice to see more people starting to make skins!

Are you making a full skin or just replacing the images of the default skin?
If you're replacing the default images then you shouldn't add text to the buttons as the button assignment can be changed by the user from inside OM.
    Failure is not an option...

For right now I was just duplicating the existing skin layout since I have no information on the way the interface works for Openmobile.

This morning I realized that the text was generated by OM so I removed the fancy text and replaced it with a plain font that would better represent what it would look like. This is just a Photoshop representation for now.

Again, I need to dig more into this eventually but for now I just wanted something I liked better than the default while I play with OM.

Looks like a great start.....we were actually just discussing trying to bring in a few new skin ideas in the dev channel but it looks like you beat us to it.

As far as OMs capabilities, theres pages of documentation on our site for that. I'll give you a one sentence overview though.....if you can create a mockup of it.....it can be done in OM. Once you see the skin Borte is developing you'll see more of what I mean...you can customize just about every aspect of every control.

Borte was referring to the automatic button assignment in the default skin but there really is nowhere that says you have to use that. OM can generate text in any font and has a few different effects for shadows, outlines, glowing/halo effect, etc or you can just use an image with text on it (although it obviously wont be customizable). So you can use any fancy font you want...the only warning i'll give is that if its not available on the users computer then the framework takes a best guess at a similar font which can be hit or miss.

Good deal, I will look into it more once I get myself comfy with skinning again. It's been a while.

BTW, I scanned your barcode and you can put anything you want in there.
