Cool...
Absolutely... right now we only have Garmin mobile pc support but as soon as I can get my hands on a copy of iGuidance a plugin shouldn't take more then a few minutes to put together. We don't use embedding, we use layering which means the nav program can take up as much screen area as you want and you can pick exactly what gets layered above it (like a back button).

Cool...
Just out of curiosity, when you say Garmin support, do you mean a plugin is in the works? I didn't see any option on the basic download/install.
By the way, I am loving what I see and read on here and can't wait for future updates (and plugins and skins). Woo Hoo.
Cheers,
John
Yup a plugin has been created and will be available with version 0.7 (scheduled for release mid-late april).
You can see a demo here:

or a pic of the planned skin at the bottom of the first post here:

With Microsoft finally updating their mobile platform with a finger friendly zune/mobile 7 type interface, I would like to see if a skin that looks similar to these can be done.
There's lots of examples on YouTube, and Microsoft has released a lot of guides. I've also found Windows skins like this floating around...
Awesome stuff. And I am quite anxious. Obviously we both have had quite a bit enough of SD.
But it's all I got right now.
Is there a way to configure OM so that it only uses one display? I'm experimenting with it at home and I'd like to confine it to just one monitor.
Thanks!
You can disregard the above, I just realized that it doesn't have to be full screen all the time, and that lets me use my monitors for other stuff.
But here's a new feature request - allow resizing the skin designer's Tools window. I'd like to make it a lot taller, so that I won't have to scroll the property grid to tweak things.
dont realy know howto subscribe without doing this...
But while I'm here, a few thoughts if you care to read. I like the quick fluid transitions, like the load time, like the "zones" idea, like music navigation, I love the idea of a front end made for and by the carpc community. I know yall are attempting to stay away from replicating other FEs but multiple simultaneous playlists, visualizations, media scrubing, are a few things the "other guys" got right. Just something to think about I guess. OM feels like its got a really solid foundation and good people to push it along, good luck.
As of now the number of screens showing up matches the number of monitors on your system. There's some startup parameters that you also can play around with:
-fullscreen : Starts OpenMobile in fullscreen mode (This is default on the installed version of OM, if you want it to start windowed then just remove this parameter from the shortcut)
-size=800x480 : This can be used to set the startup size of the OpenMobile window when running in window mode. Replace 800x480 with any size you want (default size is 1000x600)
JustChat will probably cover this one.
It does support multiple playlist already it's only a matter of creating a skin that implements this function. It's not implemented in the default skin as of now but will be in a later version.
Visualizations should also be possible it's just not implemented in any skins yet, but I think a lot of other futures will be implemented first. But I'm sure JustChat has some thoughts about it.
With "media scrubing" do you mean controlling the playback speed with a slider? If so yes that is already implemented in the default skin, you can control the playback speed with the forward / backwards buttons and the playback position with the slider above the buttons.
Failure is not an option...
