edit ignore that....it is an indexing error
i'll have the development team take a look and figure it out.
Do you see a section that says "StackTrace:" and if so can you post that too?

no stacktrace anywhere.
can I delete that db somehow and reindex to see if I can replicate the problem?

deleted file, problem replicated.
it indexed the files, then when I did exit -> quit, the error came back.
now everytime I open OM it gives me the error. still no txt file in my plugin folder for debug.
edit: unchecked auto-indexing and now no more error. so it's def. related to indexing (or auto indexing)/database
I had the development team try about a dozen different potential issues to replicate the error and couldn't find anything. Next version has better debugging and error handling built-in (as well as dozens of changes), so it will either be fixed or at least tell us exactly what went wrong.

We're working on targeting the cause of the crash, but I and others have been unable to consistently reproduce the issue, so we will likely continue to need your input on the issue. I can confirm that the Debug.dll is not generating the txt file, but that should be an easier fix. Thank you for your patience on the matter.
Edit: Dang... 2nd place
I'm not in a rush. I'll continue playing with it and try to help you test it.
what can I read to try and understand the skinning process? I'd like to work on that.
Skin design is the one area of openMobile that we haven't quite gotten down to a simple point and click experience. Skinning can either be done from any managed programming language (theres about 20 to choose from) or from a skin designer.
The skin designer is still in the process of being overhauled so the new version hasn't been released but the previous version and instructions are available here:

I'll take a look. I really, really like the eLite UI:
sleek, simple, huge buttons.
