I thought that too so I got new files and inserted them, same issue, Different song, but same issue. I removed that entire directory, worked fine until it came across another new file in the database, one that I had just added, same issue. Removed the offending file and the very next song recreated the problem. Only when I removed ALL the files I just added did the database work correctly. I did try different file formats as well, other than MP3, I tried Wav and M4a.If theres one file thats keeping the indexing from getting past 3.7% and once removed everything works then the problem is the file....deleting the database wont change that.
I'm going to delete the database and see if that works.
I installed OM in my car pc and it works well. I am running the same version of XP sp3 on my laptop and my car pc. Strangely, Pandora works in the car and not on the laptop.
Anyway now I need to know why allof the songs in my music files don't show up?
I have them on an external drive. It shows up in " settings" for me to select the path, but say I have 11 songs from an artist, only 3 may show up. I tried both settings in the update index selection with same results.
Hey guys, decided to try out OM 0.7 on my Truck PC and have hit a wall with the program. I was excited to see a small fast open frontend. Well this was before I found out that the .NET bloatware needs to be installed. So after getting that installed I was able to get OM up and running, build a database, listen to music, and adjust some settings. Exit. Relaunch, open mobile stays open for about 1 second then crashes. So I've uninstalled it and reinstalled it a couple times and each time it's the same. After about 5 tries I thought I had it, configured my HD radio and added GPS but then the same thing after the first exit, subsequent launches will load the app for about 1 second, then I get a mouse hourglass like its doing something, then it just disappears without warning or message.
Anyway just wanted to share my experience, I was not able to get .7 stable on my system.

XP was very hit-or-miss for me... There seemed to be iossues storing settings and such, but that install was pretty trashed from years of poor shutdowns... I reinstalled with win7, and it installed and seems to work pretty good (really good, for a 0.7 version). I've got HDRadio mostly working (can't seem to switch bands).

I've had crashes right after running the program, where can I find the error logs so I can report here what's not working? I added some plugins that weren't initially checked off by the installation. First I kept getting the error that my wifi plugin was crashing, but the second install I removed that plugin and it still crashes so I want to look at the error log to see at what point it crashes at.
I'm guessing you both installed the speech plugin.... its been mentioned a few times already in this thread but here it is again:
0.7 is not officially released yet! There are still speech recognition problems on XP-i have completely removed the plugin now so hopefully that avoids confusion in the future.
Information on the debug log was mentioned 2 posts below your question....but one more time:
With the OMDebug plugin installed, debug information is automatically saved to %Appdata%\openMobile\Debug.txt. The wifi error message is common to users who install third party wifi stacks on XP which disable the OS's built in support. It's not so much an error with the plugin as just a notification to you that it can't do its job because wifi is disabled.

lol, even with everything under the sun on RR it's still smaller than the .NET platform!
I am running RR on the same computer, although not at the same time. They are both installed though.
I'll take a look at the debugging and report back, maybe it's something simple i'm missing.

I beg to differ, but thanks for the comedic relief. I guess thats why the major software companies are still developing in VB6.... oh wait thats right it's 2010, and they're not.lol, even with everything under the sun on RR it's still smaller than the .NET platform!
On a productive note, some RR plugins do funny things due to the hacks that they involve to make it useful. This may be causing your instability issues. The first question you need to answer is... Did you install the Speech plugin?
