Visteon HD Radio plugin updated. Fixed the error from above from happening and switching bands. To get the new version go to the install additional plugins in the openmobile folder in the start menu and select HD Radio again.
Yeah, looks like a sound device disappeared? Will attempt to get a new radio plugin out tonight so this will default back to the default device in the future and not crash. Will also check out band switching. Will post here when I get it up there.
with regards to my wifi problem, I'm using winxp to configure my wifi, no other programs installed. But i'm doing a clean install and if it works with the right plugins not installed then i'll add the wifi and run debug too and post here. Thanks and sorry for the noob questions!
What happened to OS X support? 0.7 was touted as bringing os x support back?
You guys are supposed to be the saviour of the mac crowd?
Ok I tried the updated HD radio module and it worked!!... sort of.
The crash is gone and OM is stable but there are numerous problems that I will do my best to describe. HD radio has a very weird "echo" in the stream which goes away if I hit the stop button on the media bar. Strange but after I hit the stop it sounds perfect. Navigating away from radio does not stop the radio stream. I can click music, load my list, and play a mp3, but the radio also keeps playing. I know RR handles this by muting the line-in, not sure how OM works it. So yes the HD radio is working, but once launched it won't stop lol. If I return to Radio the echo comes back until I hit stop again. So overall it works, scans and saves fine, changes stations fine, but has the echo issue along with being unstoppable. Also noticed the entire OM suite seems to get a bit laggy once HD radio is launched. Otherwise it's very snappy.
Music player is cool and intuitive, I really like where this is headed. One gripe is I can't use the forward arrow to advance a song, or just put my entire list on shuffle. Could be me, maybe im missing something, but can;t seem to get that working.
GPS embedded fine and appears to work good using iGuidance. Embedding could perhaps use a IGnative mode to remove the tool bars from the app to show more map space.
Overall I'm liking OM so far, pretty darn good for a 0.7 release (beta)
I was also wondering if I can turn off the fade effects? They are cool but I think the interface would be even quicker without them.
I had this at first. The properties for the Line In setting in windows was set to "listen to this device" or wording to that effect. This causes two streams, one via windows itself and one via OM.
Un-check that and the radio echo will go away. Well, it did for me
