Trying to figure out GPS options

Please forgive the total newb questions, but I'm new to both carpc and OM. I have OM .7 installed and running (Music & Pandora) but am having trouble sorting through the GPS options. I've tried the External Nav plugin using a trial of MS Streets & Trips and don't really like the experience. I have seen GMPC and a plugin for it mentioned in several posts, but I see no way to install said plugin. Is this something that will not be available until .7 is 'released'? If so, does that mean that I could build it myself? And finally, if I can get it or build it, can GMPC be downloaded anywhere or do you have to get the physical media. OK, that wasn't final, if you have to get the media, do any local chains carry it?

Can you tell I'm leaving on a trip tomorrow???

The GMPC plugin has not been released yet (its still in beta testing) so is not available for download. Once released you can download GMPC directly from the garmin website or purchase the software from a few local computer stores.

OK, thanks for the information. I'll have to look closer at the Garmin site as it seemed you could only get the boxed version shipped.

Does the fact that the plugin is still in beta mean that it isn't in SVN?

PS - I used MS Streets & Trips on the trip and it totally sucks. I would not recommend this product to people I don't even like. It literally had us going in circles trying to get out of one town, it was constantly saying "off route" when we were just driving down long stretches of highway, and the maps didn't appear to be up to date. Just overall bad.
