it didn't run on my ubuntu 10.04 box. Screen went black briefly then returned to normal. No seg fault or error message. It appears to have just exited.
We are trying to get performance feedback on the new 0.8 graphics engine. This is an alpha release so please ignore a few minor graphical issues that exist-don't worry they will be fixed before release.
To Test:
1) Download the zip file below and unzip it
2) Run the Run This First.exe (only need to do it when first unzipped)
3) Run OpenMobile.exe
Provide feedback in this thread or in our bug tracker (be sure to include info on the system you tested on). Again we are looking for performance related feedback only (or compatibility issues with older hardware). As this is an alpha release, plugin sandboxing has been disabled along with automatic bug reporting.
Should Work With:
Untested and Probably broken:
- OSX
openMobile - An open source C# Front End (why choose openMobile?)
- Always Recruiting Developers -

I have use this 0.8 graphics engine. I had follow this procedure but I face trouble while using 07 operating system. Why this happen?
Try deleting mono.data.sqlite.dll from the 0.8 folder if on linux. The Run This First app should do that but looks like you need to run it as root for it to get delete privileges.
If you try it on 10.10 or with the latest mono release:
I'm scratching my head on this...its definitely a mono bug (something that makes it unable to run release builds from visual studio). If I run mono openmobile.exe it terminates without a single line of info as to why (doesnt even load the app). If i enable verbose output "mono -v openmobile.exe" then it runs fine. The verbose flag should change what it spits out not how it executes!

Does this need to be run from a certain folder or something?
I just extracted to a subfolder from my download folder, ran the 'run me first' and then ran OpenMobile.exe. OM launches and after a few seconds the screen appears with plain white backgrounds where anything UI should be (top panel, buttons, and media panel). The buttons seem to be functional as I can click on them and the screen changes, and I can click the Back button to get back home.
Testing on a 1.6 GHz Celeron with 2GB memory. Running XP MCE.
I had the same issue as ComputerChip, although I got it twice, seeing as I have two monitors connected.
Interestingly the window names for each screen were screen1 and screen3, no idea where screen2 went.
NB I extracted to Program Files\OpenMobile\0.8\

Damn, runs freaking great under linux.
Edit: FYI ubuntu 10.04 64bit
Not exactly running it on a slow PC, but it visually everything was smooth. Task Manager showed 49% CPU just sitting there, so i'm not sure y the CPU is getting sucked so much. Messing with the transitions didn't change the CPU any, it just stayed parked at 49 - 51%.
Win7 X64, core2Duo 2.53ghz, 4gb ram, nvidia geforce 9300 GPU
Tested on Win7 x86, atom 1.6ghz, 2gb ram
Got black background with white boxes on all the controls.
