nope.. i have wifi at home, and at work, so it used to be that i couldn't justify the $30/mo extra fee for mobile internet (i have an iphone, it is jailbroken, and unlocked, running on t-mobile's network)

the other problem is that my car is kind of turning into a weekend-only car. i have a company truck that i drive during the week(and a company cell phone), so i would really only use the data plan about 2 out of 7 days a week...

now tmobile is going to start offering a pay-per-mb data plan that is starting to look halfway decent, just need more convincing...

Even if he did, and had Verizon, he wouldn't be able to use it. They got rid of their tethering thing

how so? teathering is a feature of the phone, not the network. i guess they could have locked it out, but that just requires a unlocked phone to get around...

most providers frown on teathering, but it can usually be done

I just checked on that PDAnet. Looks like they use your phones regular data plan (as opposed the the actual tethering/modem scenario). If so, then the Provider won't see "tethering".

Of course, I could be mis-understanding this.

No, you aren't misunderstanding anything... That's how it works. And it works great.

May have been removed from the iSomethings, but there's really no point in removing programs from the android marketplace, as anyone can install 'non-market' apps on android phones with no real 'work'.
