If its not indexing the correct location then obviously you need to tell it where to look. To do so check out the step by step in our documentation:

I just tested using your configuration.
When you uninstall, did you tell it to remove the data as well for a completely fresh install? When you initially start it, does it show it is indexing the music, and can you post a debug log (have to install OMDebug)
And you can remove the "-fullscreen" tag from the shortcut to have it open outside of fullscreen.

I'll install the debug thing and see what it spits out.
Thanks for the quick response, guys.

@all:
Default Skin-Core, OMPlayer and OMDVD have been updated to address various reported 0.8 bugs.
* Settings panel stuck on "Loading..." in multi-screen setups
* OMPlayer crashed when media keys were used
* OMDVD error message with non-standard chapter layout
* OMDVD 64bit issues
* Various other minor bugs
To update the plugins, go to Start -> OpenMobile -> Install Additional Plugins. Then select the above skin and plugins and click download and install now.
Interesting...will have the team run a few simulations on slower drives and see if any issues popup.

i tried this in my personal laptop with fedora 13 on it. after adding some missing dependencies i was able to bring up the main screen. i had it scan a part of my audio collection and it showed that th scan wa complete but when i click the music button nothing happens is it because of fedora?
i tried it with ubuntu 10.10 in a virtual machine but it could not start even after adding the dependencies. something with mono was not working. was it because of the vm or if i encountered another bug?
gandotratushar:
I am guessing that a lot of the problems we are having is due to the version of mono each distro maybe running. Could you post what version of mono you are using?
I have the same issue as your 1st one on a mandriva box, built from SVN.
