I'm assuming that will be in the subversion.
Yup fixed it in subversion right away so it should be fixed in the build farm. Waiting for the developer to tweak the settings to better work with Linux and then i'll push it to the package server.

    Unhappy

    Hey guys...
Got a problem when running OM from the terminal...

    root@PAJERO-PC: mono "OpenMobile.exe"
The assembly mscorlib.dll was not found or could not be loaded.
It should have been installed in the '/usr/lib/mono/1.0/mscorlib.dll' directory

    ################################################## ###
But I checked the '/usr/lib/mono/1.0/mscorlib.dll' and the mscorlib.dll is in a folder 2.0 instead of 1.0

    Any ideas
    Thanks in advance..

No idea what version of linux your running but it sounds like the mono installation got screwed up. libmono-corlib1.0-cil is the missing package but its a part of mono-it really shouldn't be possible to install mono and not have that installed.

running stuff as root is asking for trouble. Am I sounding like a broken record?

    Probably am...

When you run things as root you are pulling environment variables and session specific settings different than your normal user. A whole bunch of things can go wrong there. Not only that but it's terribly insecure and highly unnecessary.

As for the other problem, you probably just need to install the 1.0 version of corelib. iirc, "mono" is just a metapackage and uninstalling random libs that the metapackage pulls in will remove just that lib and will not effect all the other packages the root metapackage depends on. For example, i can install "ubuntu-desktop" which pulls in network-manager and gnome and I can uninstall network-manager without uninstalling gnome.

Just tattoo it on your head-its easier.......

On that note..is there an easy way for a program running as root to detect if the local user has access to a certain directory? (So I can try to discourage excessive use of root)

Install the package I listed...but if you have additional problems you may need to reinstall mono. 9.10 is kind of abandoned-although its technically supported until march, a lot of the packages have gotten quite a bit out of date.
