    Linux OSK

This might be a really stupid question, but how do you enable the on screen keyboard? I'm running Ubuntu 10.10 with the OpenMobile trunk build 523.

This is my new favourite front end. You all have done an excellent job.

The on screen keyboard is built in...whenever you click a textbox it will popup-similar to how phones work.

I click the text boxes but no OSK. I even added the button to the home screen and the button just zooms in and nothing loads.

this is true in some of the configuration text boxes still. The google ones and I believe the ones that take the zipcode.

I mentioned it a while back.. but figured for my current thread.. one step at a time.

Yea I'm trying to config pandora, google, and weather. I got it to come up a couple of weeks ago but nothing ever since.

I am also trying to get audio to play. My music library is read fine but when i try to play a song the icon enlarges and nothing is played. I'm using a USB audio adapter that works fine for everything else. Do I need to switch my audio sources in a configuration somewhere? I have the gstreamer module loaded also.

do you actually get to the music skin? or do you stay on the main menu?
can you long press on a blank button and tell me if Music is an option?

Is the music skin and the media library skin the same thing? if so, then yes i am getting to the music skin. I'm at work right now so I cant look at the options. Music was already defaulted as shown when i first launched the trunk build. This means that music should be one of the options if its not on your home screen.

sounds like you're one step ahead of me at least.. wonder if there is some way to compare libraries installed...

    lo and behold.. there is!

ldconfig -v should list everything you have, perhaps we can compare?

All I did was run, check errors, then search the package manager for things related to the error. It's hard to explain but its a loose way to meet dependancies. You may end up installing things you don't need but I've been working on my desktop.

yeah.. that's pretty much how i've been goin about it. Seems to be normal fare for linux programs in general.

I'm actually pondering compiling it so see if it yells at me for not having some dependancies

I attached my ldconfig to my kubuntu thread, wouldja mind running one and maybe dif'ing em, or just throw your output in here so I can see what you have that I don't?
