I'm having trouble getting sound out of the Pandora plugin.
I'm able to play MP3 no problem through the Music interface.
I managed to get the Pandora plugin installed, and setup in a "Radio" button.
it shows my pandora account channels, and even appears to start playing a song... but no sound. When I say it looks like it starts playing, what happens is it shows a music track up top, but no playback activity shows. I don't see any indication of it actually playing the song. No numbers increasing, and the indicator doesn't progress. Now, the time value at the right of the media indicator does show different total track length values for different songs, so like I said, it sure looks like it's trying to play it. I press the "Pause" button, and it turns into a "Play" button. Press the "Play" it turns back into a "Pause", but still no sound.
I installed the Debug plugin, but I cant' for the life of me find any Debug.txt file. I had to create the openMobile directory in the "Application Data" directory, but still no debug.txt file. I even tried a search for debug.txt in the "Local Settings" directory, but still nothing. I've restarted OM a number of times, still no debug file.
Windows XP sp3
OM 0.8 (Installed Yesterday)
Thanks for any help.
And, nice work on the software!!
P.S. I've written various OBD2 programs before, and am currently working on ECUTracker (www.mympgtracker.com/ecutracker/) Perhaps I'll be able to build a plugin to make it work with OM. ECUTracker works with more than just ELM modules. Widebands, Subarus and in the future, Phidets.
2000 Ford Expedition Eddie Bauer - Bi-Fuel Gasoline/CNG

It was at 70%, so I bumped it up to 90% for giggles.
Still no sound.
The fact that the track progression indicator doesn't move is curious though.
When I hit the "Media" tab at the lower left, it shows what appears to be the correct track length, but the current track time doesn't move. Just stays at 0:00.
No matter what I do with the play or pause button.
Yea the jumping to 0 bug was in a very early release of pandora-it should be fixed by now.
If OM is running at all there will be a directory created at C:\Documents and Settings\UserName\Local Settings\Application Data\openMobile\ which contains OMMedia2, OMData and posisbly a few other files. Once the debug plugin is installed it should also begind writing a Debug.txt to that folder. If the folder doesn't exist or is empty and OM is running then your looking in the wrong folder.
Now for the actual issue-the debug log can identify exactly what it is but does the radio skin say full signal or no signal? and is this over wifi, tethering or a 3g/4g modem?
The signal shows 5 white bars, I guess that means full signal.
Currently I'm testing it on my desktop wired. My Car PC used either WiFi, Tethered, or WiFi HotSpot (Android 2.2).
As for the location of the Debug.txt file, no amount of Searching revealed the file.
Until I loaded up a Cygwin bash shell and did a find. which showed the file exactly where it was supposed to be. Yet windows file explorer refused to show it?!! go figure!! Hidden? Permissions? who knows.. here it is though.. not sure it shows any info on why Pandora won't play though.
haha.. Ok... it escaped my eyes until just now... why I couldn't find that dang debug file!
It's path is
C:\Documents and Settings\spowell\Application Data\openMobile
Note, the missing "Local Settings" directory. Specific to my machine or not.. at least I'm not totally crazy!
The only issues i've ever had reported are issues running on 64bit with the new clients and complaints whenever a client update is needed and pandora blocks access until we do it. Never had anything like this reported and not seeing any errors in the log.
Im assuming this is a regular xp sp3 build not any of those special builds....and that pandora.com plays fine on that machine. Any special firewalls or restricted internet on that machine?
If it's a full fledged XP-SP3 build, I can only assume it is.
But, it was a different install disk used on both of my machines that refuse to play Pandora through OM. Pandora does indeed play just fine from Pandora.com though. I'll try it on my wifes Vista laptop too.
So, I did a Windows Update.. and it installed a number of updates.
Tried Pandora, and got about 1/4 second of sound right off the top, then nothing.
Other than that brief sound, it still acts the same. No movement of the indicators.
Also, I noticed that the network traffic on the machine spikes for a movement as the song queues up. So, it's sure downloading something.
Oh yeah, and the windows firewall is turned off too.
