The learning curve gets a little better with each release...and you can usually find answers to just about anything with a quick google search.

I'm trying to think of things you might need to know for a new setup... i'm sure others will chime in with whatever I missed.

If graphics seem slow you may need to install a video card driver (the built in generic one is very slow). You can also try enabling compiz if its not already enabled...which makes the windows feel snappier and adds some cool effects. Might also want to open the update manager and get everything up to date (may take awhile on a new install). Other then video drivers everything pretty much is good to go out of the box.

thanks for the help, and just because I think Im missing something, is the update manager the additional plugin thing or is it a seperate cause the only things I see are the actually app and the plugin one

Everything I mentioned were parts of the OS not openMobile components. See here for the update manager:

Got music to work but now the video seems to be sketchy it opens it up but doesnt play anything

Yea video is a known issue... which now that I check isn't in the known issues list-sorry about that.

Ok good to know, thanks again for the help, now its time to play around with it get it set up the way I want.
And any idea when 0.9 will be coming out for download

we're about 4 days behind schedule...and we average a release every quarter...but I know better then to give out the exact timeline-so i'll leave it at not to much longer .
