I think in the first post somewhere I mentioned that a reinstall wasn't able to be done, main LCD on the laptop is cracked in such a way that it's more than useless. Without that or another actual vga connection, I don't think I can see anything since usb doesn't activate until after boot up.
Hoping to take it into an audio/car shop this weekend and have them connect up my ign wire for the inverter. That would solve my power issues at the very least. Then I could do the updates and see where I am at that point with drivers and OpenGL.

for the cracked screen - doesn't the laptop have a monitor/vga out? If so, you could just connect an external monitor and use the FN+F7 combination to switch to the external screen at boot.
I too can relate to OM slowness/lag, but I knew it was a result of my video drivers...and just haven't bothered to do anything about it yet![]()
Wish all laptops did. My first carpc laptop did but my latest one does not. It sucks. At least its screen does work though. Stupid no connection blue screen on the touch screen now.
The laptop does have a vga port. My external monitor I have is so old though (like 7 years old) and sometimes doesn't even work with my laptop in the house. If I plug the monitor into the laptop when it's booted up it won't recognize, even in device manager with drivers installed. It only works when plugged in and then booting the laptop.
With that, would the monitor even work to show bios, pre-boot stuff, as well. The main LCD on the laptop still works so it would default to that right? I think the external monitor was a sound idea, just I don't want to run the risk of wiping and left with nothing because I can't see anything... Oh well. I guess I will wait till tax time and get a motherboard and car power supply. I have other spare pc parts lying around so it won't be that hurtful monetary wise...
