    Character LCD - Coming Soon

Most of the data being shown was from fake sensors so I had items to cycle though in the house. Coming with .9

how configurable will the display options in OM be? (ie: as a non-programmer-- would i be able to configure all of the options on the display?)

    one request-- digital clock.

if i were to install a screen like this, it will be to replace the factory clockpod(and i have been wanting to do this since before i installed the carpc).

Is that just using a Matrix Orbital screen, the ones they sell for drive bays?

Thats very tidy looking, and a screen that size would fit perfectly above my rear view mirror, and be glare free.

Nice work, looking forward to seeing more details!

A this point you can pick exactly what you want to show, what shows all the time vs cycles, whether the "alerts" appear or not, when the leds/GPOs activate, and what the buttons do. Yes that is a Matrix Orbital screen specifically http://www.matrixorbital.com/Intelli...duct_info.html

It should support other Matrix orbital screens as long as they have the same control format. Any screen size should also be ok. I can attempt to support other screens, I just don't have them so we will have to see what happens.

I am going to say not really. Those are nice but graphical vs character displays. I am sure there would be a way to make them work but I don't see the communication protocol off hand without one in hand very very hard.

i should have looked at the operation software-- either appears to use a different software package from Matrix to run.. no big deal though.

the primary reason i wanted that one was because there were no buttons, and it was a tri-color backlight, so i could color-match it to whatever my color scheme was...

but now i realized that the model your using is also tri-color model, so that would work fine, just can't use the buttons as easy as most with my install location..

I would think that any matrix orbital charcter LCD would work. The command set is the same. So if you get a unit without buttons, no big deal. The plugin just wont react because no buttons pressed.

Will standard HD44780-compatible character LCDs be supported? That is, will it support the common parallel and serial displays or only Matrix Orbital units? Or are those HD44780 compatible anyway?
